Despite the few areas in which it falls short, DTC’s “To Kill a Mockingbird” should definitely fit somewhere in your upcoming weeks; it’s never a bad thing to be reminded of how far we’ve come and how far we still have to go.

The Austin College Global Outreach Forum presents Zainab Salbi, Women for Women International founder and president, and recipient of the 2011 Posey Leadership Award given annually by the College. At the event, Salbi will present a lecture on her international humanitarian work.

The local, self-organized TEDxSMU event is back for it’s second year and the application deadline to attend is this Friday, July 30th. The one-day conference will take place at the Dee and Charles Wyly Theater on October 16th, 2010. This year’s theme is focused around “starting now.”
