DFW museums are not messing around this summer. Art lovers can expect to see world-class works from around the globe. From twelfth-century Japanese armor to eighteenth-century French drawings, there’s truly something for everyone to enjoy this summer. Despite the on-and-off drizzle and the cooler temperatures, the masses came out for the Untapped Beer and Music Festival in Fort Worth. Personally, I was the one hoping the weather would keep away more people, leaving shorter beer lines for the rest of us.

Untapped 2014: Fort Worth Preview

With the successful addition of the CANNED Festival in Denton and Untapped: Houston, the Untapped Festival comes back to the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth this year on March 8th. To date, the 2013 Fort Worth Untapped Festival has been the highest attended event so far in the series, and they don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.

In the middle of North Texas existed this beautiful space for people to relax in the shade and listen to the water from the fountains. The Park, situated on the bluffs and overlooking the Trinity River, has been closed off since April 2007 due to its lack of maintenance and safety concerns.

The Amon Carter Museum presents today Barbara Crane: Challenging Vision, the first major retrospective in more than 25 years of the photographer’s work. This exhibition features nearly 200 photographs, from Crane’s internationally heralded early studies of human form through her chronicle of Chicago city life to her recent explorations of nature. The exhibition will be on view through May 10, 2009, before moving on to the organizer’s venue, the Chicago Cultural Center.
