Dallas Fan Days overcame the odds to put on another great show at the Irving Convention Center. Four of the main actors set to make an appearance, including headliner Matt Smith, canceled just a few weeks prior to the event due to scheduling conflicts. This may seem like devastating news to an expo that has approximately ten celebrity guests set to appear but the organizers did a great job of mending the issue. In an unsuspecting move they were able to secure David Tennant, arguably the best Doctor in the series, and several other prominent television actors.
Dallas Fan Days (one of the best comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming events in Texas) is set to return Oct. 20-22, 2017, at the Irving Convention Center. This fall’s 3-day event is packed with exciting family-friendly activities, celebrity and comic guests, costumed characters from television and movies, an artist alley and much more!
Dallas Fan Days will quickly be arriving at the Irving Convention Center on October 20-22. The Dallas Fan Days Expo encompasses a variety of pop culture topics such as comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and gaming.
This year’s 37th annual Scarborough Renaissance Festival proved to be as timeless as the historical period that it represents. For those unfamiliar with the event, it is one of America’s top Renaissance festivals that happens to take place every spring in Waxahachie. There is something for everybody with over 200 shops, 24 stages of entertainment, wine tasting, jousting knights, manpowered rides, and much more. They also host an array of special events each weekend to keep things fresh.
Heavy rains and parking conundrums were not enough to keep people away from this year’s Fan Expo Dallas. People from the DFW area, as well as all over the country, came flooding into The Kay Bailey Hutchinson convention center to meet their favorite celebrities.
Headlining the impressive list of pop culture luminaries on hand will be Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, the living legend Stan Lee, as well as members of the cast of the internationally famous cult movie, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, including actors Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Meat Loaf, Patricia Quinn and Nell Campbell.
A new app has arrived just in time for the spring comic con season in Texas. Cosmunity is a new site (and accompanying mobile app) that allows people to take their cosplay capabilities to the next level. It is a unique experience that blends social networking, marketing, and allows followers to stay informed about related upcoming events.
This is no April Fools’ joke; it is about time to dust off those cosplay outfits and reserve your tickets to Fan Expo Dallas. The upcoming Expo will be held March 31 – April 2 at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convention Center in Dallas. While the dates are a little earlier than normal, they still can’t come soon enough for many of us.
Next Saturday and Sunday, February 13th and 14th, pop culture convention Dallas Comic Con Fan Days will take over the Irving Convention Center.
