Support The Kraddick Foundation to Commemorate Kidd Kraddick at Children’s Health
On the fourth anniversary of the passing of Kidd Kraddick, his daughter, Caroline Kraddick, CEO and Chief Happiness Officer of Kidd’s Kids, along with Dr. J Mack Slaughter, founder of Music Meets Medicine, launched an online fundraiser to name the Therapeutic Arts Room at Children’s Medical Center Dallas, the flagship hospital of Children’s Health, as the Kidd’s Kids and Music Meets Medicine Therapeutic Arts Room in memory of her father.
Caroline Kraddick made this announcement on the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show and said, “My dad would be so touched that the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show cast and all of his listeners are helping to name this room in his memory. He spent countless hours over 20 years, visiting patients at Children’s Medical Center Dallas as well as many area hospitals. This unique space will enable us to share his love of music through therapy and education. My heartfelt thanks to everyone who is helping us continue to bring hope and happiness to kids with life-altering and life-threatening conditions.â€
Kidd’s Kids, in partnership with Music Meets Medicine, is using social media to collect donations to name the Kidd’s Kids and Music Meets Medicine Therapeutic Arts Room in Memory of Kidd Kraddick. Donations can be made through the Kidd’s Kids website, kiddskids.com or by texting KIDD to 52000. The campaign will run through August 22, which was Kidd Kraddick’s birthday.
The funds raised will support a special place where kids can look beyond healing their physical conditions and, with the help of music therapists, focus on some of the simple pleasures of childhood. Children’s Health employs board-certified music therapists who are trained to use a variety of musical experiences to create a therapeutic relationship with patients and family members. Patients will have access to musical instruments and music lessons, along with arts and crafts, while they receive treatment. The Kidd’s Kids and Music Meets Medicine Therapeutic Arts Room in Memory of Kidd Kraddick will provide a space for children to learn, explore and, most of all, heal.
