Silver Dollar at the Ranch hosts fundraiser for Speedway Children’s Charities Texas
On Saturday, May 20, Silver Dollar at the Ranch will hold its 10th annual fundraiser for pediatric cancer. The country western event benefits Speedway Children’s Charities Texas, with every donated dollar supporting children that are battling cancer here in DFW. This year’s event theme, “Wanted: a CURE for Cancer,†will continue to honor the Texas legacy and cowboys, rustlers and wranglers who once roamed the same land where XO Ranch now rests.
This year’s Silver Dollar grant beneficiaries are Make a Wish with Wings, ManeGait Therapeutic Horsemanship and Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center. Hosts Chip and Mardi Ferrier bring hundreds of Dallas denizens and do-gooders to XO Ranch in Aubrey every year for a raucous and rowdy night of dancing, dinner, games, a silent auction and a, well, not-so-silent auction. The live music will keep you groovin’ and movin’ ‘til the early morning, and as headliner and country music artist Neal McCoy sings, you’ll be making a difference—there’s “No Doubt About It.â€
McCoy makes his return to the Silver Dollar stage for the event, which starts at 6:30 p.m. and runs through midnight. NBC 5’s Kris Gutierrez will co-emcee the event alongside TV personality Dawn Neufeld.
XO Ranch is located at 7701 Bull Run, in Aubrey, Texas. Individual tickets are $150, and tables are available for $1,500. Sponsorships start at $3,000, and are still available through the event’s website.
Since its inception in 2008, the Silver Dollar at the Ranch event has raised over $2.25 million dollars for cancer research and programs on both the local and national level.
