Terry Black’s BBQ, which is sometimes on one’s bucket list for a sojourn to the Austin area, may be building out a location in Deep Ellum.

This isn’t Black’s BBQ in Lockhart, Texas, like we originally thought, but Terry Black’s BBQ. We assume they are related by last name, but the Dallas expansion is based on the one located at:

1003 Barton Springs Road
Austin, TX 78704

A contractor, who will remain anonymous, associated with building out the restaurant couldn’t help but gloat a bit. He posted this pic to a 20k+ member BBQ Facebook forum, of which we are apart. The tipster said,

“Terry Black[‘]s is coming to Deep Ellum. My crew is sawing and tearing out slabs and walls.”

It’s the Dallas Comedy House building on Main Street.

Looks like Pecan Lodge may have some competition creeping in.

More Details: CentralTrack informed of us an article they wrote in April. It looks like this new BBQ spot is coming at expense of Dallas Comedy House’ lease. This is bittersweet and we do hope both parties came to an understanding.
