UPDATED: 01/09/2015: Added Three Coffeeshops in Denton (Banter, Cultivar, and West Oak) and Serj Bookstore in Downtown Dallas. Comments and suggestions welcome as I plan to keep this list current!

Whether you need a place to caffeinate, a comfy seat for weekend reading, or a cozy corner for a casual conversation, nothing beats the experience of an independently owned coffeeshop.

I composed this list without reviews or additional information on purpose. That’s because if you have the guts to open your own coffeeshop, you deserve recognition just for that alone.

In addition to supporting local business owners, you’re also supporting local baristas by affording them the opportunity to train and work on non-automated equipment.

In many cases, local cafes will also serve specialty coffee which rewards your taste buds for the wise decision to ditch the green straw.

With that, I present to you the complete (and updated) list of independent coffee shops of DFW.
