Sculptors Begin to Bring Charlie Brown to Life at the Gaylord Texan’s ICE! Exhibit
Forty professional ice carvers have traveled across the globe from Harbin, China, to hand-carve Gaylord Texan’s magical ICE! exhibit featuring the classic story of A Charlie Brown Christmas by Charles Schultz. It will take the artisans 30 days in total to carve the two-million-pound attraction, which will also feature six two-story tall ice slides, an ice bar (for ages 21 and up), and a life-size Nativity.
The artisans are currently halfway done carving the magical experience, which will be open to the public from November 15th, 2019 – January 5th, 2020.
The legendary ICE! attraction is only one part of Gaylord Texan Resort’s 16th annual Lone Star Christmas event. Visitors this holiday season will also enjoy:
- 2 million holiday lights decorating the resort
- A two-story tall, 8-lane snow tubing hill made with two million pounds of real snow
- A 6,000-square-foot outdoor ice skating rink
- A 54-foot-tall Christmas tree adorning the center atrium
- Over 30,000 feet of gingerbread for decorating
- Magical miniature trains throughout the property
- 25-foot-tall toy soldiers overlooking joyful families
- 2,300 decorated wreaths, 5,600 feet of garland, 15,000 festive ornaments, and 2,000 Poinsettias
