Nothing like a good beer paired with a great lobster dish. Am I right? Oh, you’ve never heard of a place like that? Welcome to your new favorite bar.

Henderson Tap House is the newest concept to open on Henderson. More than just draft beer and finger foods, this isn’t exactly your average bar. Yes, there’s lobster in more than one dish. And no, you won’t be scraping your pockets trying to pay for it.

I got to try a few items from the menu the other night and there were definitely a few standouts. First things first: the lobster artichoke dip. Oh yes; probably my favorite thing of the night. It’s served with warm pita bread, but feel free to spoon it directly into your mouth.

Next up were the Prime Rib and Potato Nachos. Notice the words “potato” and “nachos” in the same sentence? That’s because these nachos feature house made potato chips loaded with shaved prime rib, caramelized onions, gooey cheddar cheese and bleu cheese crumbles. Sound delicious? That’s because it was.

Like shrimp that give dirty looks? These shrimp kill. They’re killer shrimp, that is. These panko fried shrimp are tossed in a sriracha (I’ll never be sick of Sriracha) house glaze and served with gorgonzola and bleu cheese dipping sauce. Loved these villains.

The buffalo chicken pizza proved to be an awesome late night snack complete with white sauce, mozzarella, grilled chicken and tangy buffalo sauce drizzled on top.

It’s the end of the night. Time to go home and hit the hay. But before I do, you know what would really hit the spot? Warm cookies. And milk. Oh yeah. Wait…that’s on the menu?!

You bet it is. And it was delicious.

So the next time you’re looking for a bar with more than just bar food, I would highly suggest this place. Go ahead and stuff your face. I know I did.
