Go Celtic at Scarborough Renaissance Festival this Weekend
Come dance a jig and go Celtic at Scarborough Renaissance Festival® this weekend, April 15 & 16, with the Shandon O’Regan School of Irish Dancers performing each day at 2:00 pm on the Whimsey Stage. Each day will also include special Celtic events such as the Bonnie Knees Contest at 11:00 am, Tug O’War at 3:00 pm and the Scottish Egg Eating contest at 4:00 pm.
Scarborough Renaissance Festival® will also celebrate Easter with an English Renaissance Easter Service at 12:30 pm at the Crown Meadow Stage on Sunday, April 15th and an Easter Treasure Hunt for children both Saturday and Sunday, April 15th & 16th. Treasure Maps and other event details can be found at the Festival’s front gate area.
Limited engagement performers this weekend (April 15 & 16) include “The London Broil Showâ€, “Topsy Turvy†and “Idiot Friendsâ€.
This weekend’s daily Wine Tastings will feature the wines of France and the daily Beer Tastings will feature the beers of the English Isles. The tastings sell out fast, so it is recommend that you purchase tasting tickets in advance. Make sure to check out the daily specials at the Rose & Crown Inn full service restaurant (like Bangers & Mash), Pasta Palace and Bakery as well as the largest food on-a-stick selection in Texas!
Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is open Saturdays, Sundays, and Memorial Day Monday, now through May 29, 2017 from 10 AM to 7 PM. Event details and registration information will be at the Festival front gate area. Located in Waxahachie, Scarborough Renaissance Festival® is just 30 minutes south of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex on FM 66 off of I-35E at exit 399B. From Austin or Waco, follow I-35E north to Exit 399.
Admission is $28 for adults and $13 for children, ages 5-12 . Children age 4 and under are admitted free. Parking is free compliments of Waxahachie Nissan. Tickets are available at the gate on Festival days and on-line at SRFestival.com. Discount tickets can be purchased at D/FW area Tom Thumb & Albertsons stores. A ‘$10 off 2 Tickets’ coupon can be found at North Texas MetroPCS stores through April 30th (offer only valid through April 30th), and discount coupons will be at Waxahachie Nissan throughout the season.
