The City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs has partnered with the Dallas theatre community and Theatre Communications Group (TCG) to offer a Free Night of Theater! This is a national program that raises the awareness of and attracts new audiences to live theatrical performances.

Reserve your tickets starting Monday at 12pm (seriously, don’t wait) and enjoy a FREE night of theater in Dallas. Here’s some more information about reserving your tickets (via KERA’s Art & Seek guide to Free Night of Theater):

On Mondays, you will be able to reserve tickets for shows coming up the following weekend. For shows beyond that weekend, you will need to wait until the Monday before those shows to reserve those tickets. Tickets will be available on five consecutive Mondays.

How to get your FREE ticket:

Theatergoers are only able to reserve tickets through the Free Night of Theater website, freenightoftheater.net.

1. LEARN ABOUT THE OPTIONS
Look over the list of participating theatres provided below. Visit KERA’s Art&Seek.org or the Free Night of Theater website to learn more about a specific theatre and/or production.

2. REMEMBER FREE NIGHT’S GOALS AND GUIDELINES
The aim of Free Night of Theater is to introduce as many new theatergoers to Dallas area theaters as possible, so please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Tickets will be released in a staggered format with each weekend’s ticket allotment being released the Monday prior (see schedule below)
• Reservations are limited to one per household only
• Patrons are strongly encouraged to visit a theater that they have never attended
• Reservations require a valid and active email address and are handled on a first come, first serve basis – once the tickets are gone, they are gone
• Each participating theatre will set a reservation ticket limit for their productions
• Once tickets have been reserved through the website, patrons will be able to pick up their tickets at the will-call window of the individual theater’s box office on the night of the show

3. SELECT A SHOW
Check you calendar and decide which theatre, production, and performance date interests you most.

4. MAKE YOUR RESERVATION
Beginning October 5, new theatergoers can make reservations through the national Free Night of Theater website, freenightoftheater.net.
