Do you think festival season is over? Think again. It’s just getting started!  DFW offers some of the most unique gatherings in the country. From local art to western films, from barbecue to craft beer, from swing dancing to comic cons, there really is a celebration for everyone in north Texas. The distinction between a festival, event, fair, community gathering and party can be somewhat hard to discern, but we’ll leave that for you to decide. In the meantime, here is a list of 100 Dallas-Fort Worth festivals for you to feast your senses. Also, let us know which ones we missed.

Spirit of the Cowboy Western Festival
McKinney, Texas

VideoFest
Dallas, Texas

VideoFest is the oldest and largest video festival in the United States, and continues to garner critical and popular acclaim. Since 1986, VideoFest has specialized in independent, alternative and non-commercial media, presenting hard-to-find works rarely seen on television, in movie theaters, or elsewhere, despite their artistic excellence and cultural and social relevance. Even in a Web 2.0 environment where everything is seemingly available on the Internet, VideoFest provides curatorial guidance, a critical voice in the wilderness navigating the vast and diverse landscape of media, helping to interpret its cultural and artistic significance. The event provides a communal environment for real-time, face-to-face dialogue between makers and audiences. Irving, Texas

Canal Fest returns for a second year of fun, food, music and culture. Set along the beautiful and unique Mandalay Canal, this festival includes a local art exhibit, cultural dance performances, family-friendly activities, live music and a variety of food and beverages. Lebanese Food Festival
Lewisville, Texas

Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church proudly presents its annual Lebanese Food Festival. The event features authentic Lebanese food, such as stuffed grape leaves, kibbi, falafel, tabbouli, kafta, baklava and much more. Don’t miss the raffle drawing for a chance to win prizes. State Fair of Texas
Dallas, Texas

Where do I start? I’m not even sure this Texas tradition needs any explaining at all, but here we go. This almost month long state fair features deep fried foods that even your wildest 10-year-old imagination couldn’t have dreamed up (a.k.a. fried Thanksgiving dinner, fried banana splits and fried beer), a small village of arts and craft vendors, college football, fair rides, Big Tex, corny dogs (worth the 10 minute line), auto shows, livestock, ostrich races, numerous state competitions, trade fairs, beer, wine, live music by major performers almost every night and more, much more. 2017 Details

Texas State Veggie Fair
Dallas, Texas

The Texas Veggie Fair is organized by locals who are passionate about the benefits of a plant-based diet, environmental causes and animal welfare. WorldFest
Addison, Texas

The Town of Addison and the World Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth proudly present the annual WorldFest, north Texas’ largest international festival. The annual Texas Beer Camping event celebrates craft beer and brewing. After Dark in the Park
Arlington, Texas

River Legacy Foundation’s After Dark in the Park is a family-fun fall festival featuring unique children’s games, crafts, a pumpkin patch, face painting, karaoke, bounce houses, concessions and more. Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering

The Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District is home to the annual Red Steagall Cowboy Gathering and Western Swing Festival. The event features a wagon train and trail ride from Jacksboro, ranch rodeo action, chuck wagon camp and competition, trappings show, cowboy poetry and music, ranch cutting horse rodeo finals, youth poetry contest, youth fiddle contest, youth chuck wagon cook-off, Texas trail of fame, cowboy church, cowboy gospel concert and western swing dances. Chefs for Farmers
Dallas, Texas

The Chefs for Farmers event presents an outdoor food, wine and spirits festival bringing local farmers, chefs and purveyors together in Dallas. Attendees can enjoy bites by some of the most talented chefs in the state of Texas, top-notch wines and cocktails, music by local bands and DJs and BYO wine glasses and picnic blanket. Lone Star Film Festival
Fort Worth, Texas

The Lone Star Film Festival (LSFF) in Sundance Square is the Lone Star Film Society’s signature event. Beaujolais and Beyond Wine Festival
Irving, Texas

The Beaujolais and Beyond Wine Festival ticket includes unlimited food and wine tastings, commemorative wine glasses, live entertainment, music and dancing by DJ Jeff Hickock and silent auction. Run Rock Dallas- 5K and Music Festival
Dallas, Texas

North Texas Irish Festival
Dallas, Texas

The North Texas Irish Festival features top Irish musicians and dancers from around the world, as well as a variety of cultural presentations on over a dozen stages in Fair Park. Along with music and dancing, a handful of food vendors serve Irish inspired food and drinks, including Irish stew, shepherd’s pie and Guinness. Other attractions include whiskey tastings, blacksmithing demonstrations, archery in a Celtic village, Gaelic football and horse displays allowing attendees to experience Celtic culture. Denton Music Festival
Denton, Texas

The Denton Music Festival is an annual four-day event held the week prior to SXSW in Austin, Texas. Savor Dallas
Dallas, Texas

The Savor Dallas event includes four days of festivities celebrating wine, food, spirits and the arts. This event is without a doubt, the largest premium wine and food event in Texas. Texas Pinball Festival
Dallas, Texas

The Texas Pinball Festival features over 300 vintage and new pinball machines, classic arcade games and slot machines both on sale and set on free play. Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Dallas, Texas

Witnessing the Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Parade puts you in a quasi-fraternity of sorts. It’s a little like going to Mardi Gras and then again not so much.  This occasion is truly unique. The parade has become the signature event of the St. Patrick’s celebration for our fair city. Deep Ellum Arts Festival
Dallas, Texas

The annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival transformed six city blocks of Main Street in the Deep Ellum into a spectacular visual and performing arts festival featuring 200 juried decorative and visual artists from throughout the country, 100 original bands and singer/songwriters and performance artists performing only original music from five different stages. ChocolateFest
Grapevine, Texas

ChocolateFest is a fundraising event benefiting Travelers Aid Dallas/Fort Worth. Munster’s Germanfest
Muenster, Texas

The annual Munster’s Germanfest is a three-day festival with German food and fun activities for adults and children. Muenster was founded by people of German heritage and Catholic faith. Carnaval de Salud
Dallas, Texas

Each year, UT Southwestern Medical Center holds a health fair benefiting students and families in the local Dallas community. Held at T.J. Texas Frightmare Weekend
Dallas, Texas

Fangoria partners with Texas Frightmare Weekend, the Southwest’s premier horror convention. Attendees can expect film screenings, director Q&As and horror-related merchandise. Suburbia Music Festival
Plano, Texas

New festival alert–the Suburbia Music Festival is a two-day music event featuring some of the best indie and eclectic artists around. Prairie Jubilee
Plano, Texas

The Prairie Jubilee Festival offers live music, food and family fun in Plano’s Historic District, Haggard Park. This event is hosted by the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation and features live music, train rides, face painting, chalk art, cane pole fishing, stick horse races and cow roping, basically funday for the whole family. Wildflower Arts and Music Festival
Richardson, Texas

The Wildflower Arts and Music Festival began in 1993 as a small community celebration in honor of the acres of wildflowers planted around the city of Richardson. Over twenty years later, the festival has become a notable DFW music event with annual attendance surpassing 70,000 people. Founders Day Festival
Rockwall, Texas

Founders Day is exactly that, a community gathering that celebrates the founding of Rockwall in 1854. Wylie Jazz Arts Fest
Wylie, Texas

The Wylie Public Arts Advisory Board and the City of Wylie present the JazzArts Fest featuring fine art and entertainment by professional jazz musicians, college ensembles and area high school jazz bands. National Polka Festival
Ennis, Texas

The National Polka Festival invites everyone to come help celebrate over forty years of Czech heritage. Held annually on Memorial Day Weekend, the National Polka Festival offers an abundance of activities to be enjoyed by the entire family in a small city atmosphere. The festival kicks off with an opening dance featuring polka music and the King and Queen Dance Contest, where participants and non-participants are encouraged to wear traditional Czech kroj (costumes). The Saturday morning parade includes polka bands riding on decorated floats and the sounds of the award winning Ennis High School Marching Band. Mayfest
Fort Worth, Texas

Mayfest began in 1973 as the Trinity River Festival – a celebration of the community’s efforts in improving the unsightliness that was left after the devastating Fort Worth flood of 1949. Since the beginning, local volunteers, business owners and community members have contributed to the event’s success. Mayfest attracts more than 200,000 visitors each year and features an art market, children’s play area, food, riverbank views, sports activities, the Mayfest Run and live entertainment on seven stages. Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games
Arlington, Texas

Texas Scottish Festival and Highland Games features top Scottish musicians, professional athletes and champion highland dancers. Cottonwood Art Festival
Richardson, Texas

Located in the scenic Cottonwood Park in Richardson, the Cottonwood Art Festival is a juried art show that typically features over 200 artists and over 1,000 entries. The museum-quality work is divided into 14 categories: 2D mixed media, 3D mixed media, cottonwood art, ceramics, digital, drawings/pastels, fiber, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, painting, photography, sculpture and wood. Families can visit ArtStop, an interactive children’s area offering arts, crafts and activities for children of all ages. Homegrown Music and Art Festival

The Homegrown Music and Arts Festival is located in Main Street Garden Park in Dallas. Main Street Days in Grapevine
Grapevine, Texas

The annual Main Street Days features three days of family-friendly festival fun. Activities include the KidCave and the grillin’ competition at the Town Square Gazebo. Attendees can enjoy a variety of different stages featuring live music and kid stage shows. Make sure to visit the Carnival Midway and enjoy all of the shopping along Main Street. The largest gathering of Asian Pacific Americans in the DFW area is back and bigger than ever! Each year, the Asian Festival attracts thousands of people from all over north Texas. National Championship Powwow
