Earth Day Texas Celebration Happens Today and Tomorrow in Fair Park
Spring has come at last y’all. It’s been a long, long winter and if there was ever an opportunity to be outside to enjoy the sun rays, the warm breeze, and the blooming blue bonnets, now would be that time. So how about kicking off spring by attending Earth Day Texas 2014 this weekend at Fair Park Saturday April 26 and Sunday April 27.
Now you’re thinking Earth Day? Texans care about the earth in our own way. But as ordinary people, how can we contribute to protecting it? Well that’s all the more reason to come to Earth Day Texas. For starters, it’s free admission. So the festival is open to everybody. We’re talking about music performances, arts and crafts, wild animals, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy good food and purchase green swag.
But if you’re more of an indoors kind of person, they’ll be plenty of exhibits to check out showcasing inventive ways to make the environment better. At least 800 in all made possible by non-profit groups,
schools, businesses, and government who are pitching with their own environmental plan that could one day change the world.
So, there are tons of fun activities for the young and the young at heart. The Polyphonic Spree will be performing at the festival. FOX will do an open casting call for their upcoming reality show “UTOPIA” which is about creating a better society. And it wouldn’t be a festival, if Earth Day Texas didn’t provide an auto show, showcasing eco-friendly vehicles. Grab your friends, take the kids out, bring an open mind, but don’t forget your camera and come to Earth Day Texas 2014 at Fair Park this weekend.
