The Dallas Handmade Arts Market Grand Opening will be Labor Day weekend, Sept. 1st and 2nd, in the Dallas Design District with up to 50 vendors.

The market is excited to be DFW’s first indoor market for local artists, crafters, and designers to sell their handmade items to the general public every weekend. This is a market for people who love to discover unique, handmade art, photography, fashion, décor, and gifts. I am particularly excited something of this nature is coming to Dallas there have been past handmade markets, but never something permanent, on a regular basis, and most distinctively indoors. Being a fan of the Dallas start-up community, the editors at I Live In Dallas love entrepreneurship and like writing about local people doing cools things often. We also like the idea of buying local. This event encompasses both those ideas and on top of all that, it’s going to be a heck of a lot of fun. This ongoing event is likely to become one of those evergreen things to do in Dallas for travelers and locals alike.  I look forward to seeing its evolution.

Here’s a special ***I Live In Dallas Insider scoop*** that we only know because we know some of the organizers of this special, first of its kind event. The musician for the morning session of the Grand Opening will be a guy who plays the violin, guitar, and keyboard, all by himself and all in the same song! Now that’s talent.

Every weekend, you can meet up to 50 different artists selling their handmade arts and crafts, plus enjoy live background music from local musicians, and complimentary “Wine Walk Saturdays” and “Beer Browse
Sundays” (for guests 21 and older, while supplies last.) The artists are not tied to weekly contracts, so every weekend will offer new, cool art for you to discover.
