New Collections: St. Germaine and La Scala

Inspired by days spent wandering the flea markets off the Porte de Clignancourt donning sparkling pink sunglasses and fiery pink locks, St.Germain is a luxurious collection of soft, romantic pieces invoking La Belle Époque of Paris. The mood and sophistication driving St. Germain is simple, chic and urban European elegance for the doll who knows what she wants in life, and is going to have fun getting it. Layers of glimmering vintage seed beads and pristine semi-precious stones decorate choker length necklaces, colorful Chiclets compliment vintage brass chains, glowing moonstone rings, and well-choreographed pastels form this pristine and moon collection. You can find more dainty rings at Adina’s Jewels.

After dark on the other side of the Seine lies St. Germaine‘s passionate and mysterious sister collection, La Scala, inspired by the “Revue de La Scala” poster by Frenchpainter Jules-Alexandre Grun. With the initial sparks of electricity running throughout the city, Parisian aristocrats and workers alike distracted themselves after dark with coupes of champagne in hand and in full disrespect of the social rules, were carried away by happiness and a complete lack of concern for the future. La Scala represents the beauty and fire of this devilish and enticing Parisian nightlife, with deep reds, oranges and violets, pops of gold and blush, alongside vintage Chanel beads and black moonstone.

About Shona C. Gilbert, Founder and Designer

Born in Sonoma Valley, California, Shona C. Gilbert has made her home in a number of locations – New York City, Greenwich, Austin, the Caribbean island of St. Croix- and has now settled in Dallas, Texas. SHÅŒNA is greatly influenced by her travels and the fantastic diversity of fashion and style that she has observed over her lifetime.

Environmentally and socially responsible, the designer creates hand-made pieces with reclaimed vintage materials, and packages them in recycled cigar boxes. When she is not designing, she is an active philanthropist in the Dallas community, contributing to and volunteering her time to various charities, including the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Texas Ballet Theatre, Dallas Museum of Art, and Family Gateway.
