Oak Cliff Earth Day will be a fun, pet-friendly event from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at Lake Cliff Park. This year’s event will feature fabulous food vendors, speakers at the Earth Day Educational Event, a “Pooch Smooch” booth, the second annual “Mutt Strut” parade and more.

Located just East of Downtown Dallas, Deep Ellum is best known for it’s music scene, eclectic roots and rich history. Between 1920 and 1950, the Jazz and Blues scene in Deep Ellum exploded. The most anticipated event of the year, the 19th annual Deep Ellum Arts Festival, transforms six city blocks of Main Street in the Deep Ellum entertainment district into a spectacular visual and performing arts festival featuring 200 juried decorative and visual artists from throughout the country, 100 original bands, singer/songwriters and performance artists performing only original music from 5 different stages, bountiful food and drink and the renowned Sunday Pet Parade. An “Arty Party” for all of the senses, this unique gathering with tantalizing sights, sounds and flavors showcases everything that makes Deep Ellum the most interesting and evolving neighborhood in the Metroplex. Even the people watching is amazing!

Drowning Pool is hosting their record release show on April 3, 2013 at the Boiler Room in Dallas. The band will be doing an acoustic set at 7 p.m. followed by a meet and greet. Then at 8 p.m. the band will be bar tending the rest of the evening with all the proceeds of the $5 donation to enter going to USO.

The Dallas International Film Festival 2013 presented by AutoNation Volkswagen Dealers has announced its full list of features and shorts that will be screened through the Festival’s 11-day run (April 4 – 14, 2013). For the 2013 Festival, more than 160 features, documentaries, shorts and student films representing 28 countries make DIFF truly an international Festival. Of the feature films at the Festival, 11 will see their world premieres and two are North American premieres–all represent some of the best in the art of filmmaking. These films were selected from more than 1,300 submissions from around the world.
