One Couch at a Time Doc Film Maker Alexandra Liss Shares Her Story at Texas Theater – ILID Radio #11

In this eleventh episode of I Live In Dallas Radio, co-hosted by myself and Jason Channell, we interview Alexandra Liss, who took a 21 country, six continent, tour for seven months using the website CouchSurfing.org. Liss directed and stars in the documentary One Couch at a Time, that has been showing across the United States at indie theaters and cities with large communities of couchsurfers that have been hosting screenings. We also spoke with the film’s producer Jean-Michel Werk and local Dallas-Fort Worth community couchsurfing tribe leader Brad Wilson, whom consequently met his wife via hosting events for local couchsurfers.

Dallas International Film Festival 2013’s Full Schedule – Plus 10 Exclusive Movie Posters

The Dallas International Film Festival 2013 presented by AutoNation Volkswagen Dealers has announced its full list of features and shorts that will be screened through the Festival’s 11-day run (April 4 – 14, 2013). For the 2013 Festival, more than 160 features, documentaries, shorts and student films representing 28 countries make DIFF truly an international Festival. Of the feature films at the Festival, 11 will see their world premieres and two are North American premieres–all represent some of the best in the art of filmmaking. These films were selected from more than 1,300 submissions from around the world.

On Thursday, March 7, 2013, the historic Texas Theater in Oak Cliff will be throwing a red carpet premiere for the first full-length documentary on the subject, called “One Couch at a Time.” The film follows director and veteran Couchsurfer Alexandra Liss of San Francisco through 20 countries, six continents, for seven months using the Couchsurfing Web site.
