Cliff Notes Prolonged Media is a new and independent bookstore in the Oak Cliff area. The 400 sq ft store is filled with character – selling literature from the Beatnik movement to more recent, self-published works by local authors.

Last month Cliff Notes had a successful, standing room only Open Mic night. This Friday night, the crowd will gather at Mighty Fine Arts for their second event – this month featuring local writer/poet, Josh Weir, and local band, Atrium.

The artist studios are open year around by appointment, but once a year, they open on the same day, giving visitors a chance to really experience a creative, evolving neighborhood.

Meet the artists, see where they work and what they create. Search and find the perfect piece to take home with you. If you’ve never been to the Cedars, now is a great chance to learn about the neighborhood.

Fall in Dallas means, among other things, that art lovers can get a head start on holiday shopping during the Bath House Cultural Center Art Mart, November 20 – 22, 2009. Art Mart has always been the place to find a special piece of art for yourself, family, and friends: paintings, sculpture, photography, pottery, ceramics, jewelry, cards and other unique creations.

The YnC Concerts @ series have been a huge success – featuring local musicians Summer Ames, Kurk Thurmond, The Boss Level, and Traveler and supporting local charities Unearned and Stop Child Trafficking Now.

They close out the 2009 series this Friday, November 13th and they welcome back singer-songwriter Becky Middleton. The concert is still free and you and your friends are invited.

Artist Guillermo Kuitca will join Noah Simblist, Associate Professor of Art at SMU, and Charles Wylie, the Lupe Murchison Curator of Contemporary Art, for a discussion of his work.

Mr. Kuitca is the designer of the Winspear Opera House permanent stage curtain that was done in collaboration with the center’s architects, Foster & Partners.

The AT&T Performing Arts Center’s week long grand opening is coming to a close Sunday with an all day/all free festival.
