The Denton Kiwanis Club’s most anticipated event, the Taste of North Texas is scheduled for March 29 inside the Golden Triangle Mall. For one price you will be able to sample food and drinks from approximately 35 local restaurants. If you have never attended, you that you will not be disappointed.

The Denton Kiwanis Club was chartered December 6, 1921. The club formed the Denton Kiwanis Club Children’s Clinic in 1923 and has continuously provided free medical, prescription and dental assistance to the children of northern Denton County. Proceeds from this event are used to support the efforts of the clinic and other youth services that the club provides.

Steinfest is an Oktoberfest-style event hosted by the Historic Downtown Plano Association that celebrates outstanding beer, great food and the right kind of polka music to get you and your friends dancing in the street.

This event includes the finest beer, German-inspired cuisine, live music, an artist village of craftsman and makers, a wiener dog fashion show, keg bowling, a kid’s zone and the Whole Foods Market VIP bier garden.

The festivities begin with music, food and contests. The official taping of the Oktoberfest keg will be Saturday at 12:00 p.m. There will be Wiener Dog Races on Sunday, and traditional German dancers will entertain and educate the crowd with performances throughout the day.
