At this year’s edition of the Big D BBQ Battle, the best sauce-slingers in all of the DFW Metroplex fire up their smokers (the wood- and charcoal-burning types) and vie for the top prize in categories such as best brisket, ribs, and beans. Meanwhile, attendees fill up with all the fall-off-the-bone succulence they can take.

This event is benefiting Café Momentum, a Dallas-based restaurant and culinary training facility that transforms young people’s lives by providing a
positive environment in which at-risk youth who have spent time in juvenile facilities receive intensive culinary, job and life-skill training, as well as continued mentorship and support, enabling them to achieve their full potential.
