If you haven’t heard, the multi-platinum and Grammy nominated Goo Goo Dolls have announced their headlining Summer tour, Long Way Home with special guest Phillip Phillips. They’re going to be stopping in Irving play the Pavillion at the Music Factory on September 6th.

We’ve added a new permanent listing to our evergreen Dallas festivals list. Thinking about all the truffles we’ve missed, discovering this festival’s existence has been bitter sweet. Texas Monthly BBQ Fest, which sells out every year, celebrates the arrival of a new list of “Top 50 BBQ Joints in Texas” (in the June 2017 issue) with a full weekend of events this fall. On Saturday, November 4th, the second annual Brisket Brunch will be held at Juliet Italian Kitchen from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The special menu will feature a culinary collaboration between Juliet’s executive chef, Jacob Weaver, and pitmaster Leonard Botello IV of TRUTH Barbeque, ranked #10 on the Texas Monthly list from Brenham, Texas. Tickets are $85 per person for a meaty brunch menu with cocktails included.

Recently, my girlfriend and I attended ZestFest 2017 held at the Irving Convention Center. Now that I look back, I’ve actually attended a handful of some pretty sweet events over the years there. This made me wonder what are some other interesting things to do in Irving, Texas, that can be done year-round and as a couple. Here are a few are four date themes, if you feel like venturing toward our neighbor to the northwest for the night.

Hotel Crescent Court is not only a hotel, but a special area of uptown for shopping, dining, wedding rehearsal dinners, wellness spas, and beauty. In-between uptown and the Hardwood District, the hotel is a stone’s throw distance from the corporate offices of financial behemoths and luxury watch makers MoneyGram International and Rolex.
