Collin Zreet is native Dallasite, and moved back to Big D after living in Austin for a few years. When not working with helicopters, he can be found hucking the frisbee, or paddling/biking around White Rock Lake. With the recent explosion of the Dallas craft beer scene, he also enjoys tasting what local microbreweries have to offer, as well as making some homebrew with his team, The Fort Brewing Co. Announcing Big Texas Beer Fest 2014 in April

The Big Texas Beer Fest returns to Dallas’ Fair Park on April 5th after two highly successful events in 2012 and 2013. Named as Dallas Observer’s best beer festival two years in a row, and drawing more than 5,000 attendees last year, the event will be held in same location in Fair Park’s Automobile Building. This year’s event intends to attract nearly 100 breweries, believed to be the most of any Texas beer festival, including over 25 breweries from the state of Texas.

Beer and music have always been great together. They practically go hand-in-hand, as seen by the explosion of the popularity of the Untapped Music and Beer Festival. Now, breweries are starting to jump on the same trend. Dogfish Head Brewery has an entire line up of music inspired beers, including: Miles Davis Bitches Brew Imperial Stout and most recently the Grateful Dead American Beauty IPA.

Untapped 2014: Fort Worth Preview

With the successful addition of the CANNED Festival in Denton and Untapped: Houston, the Untapped Festival comes back to the Panther Island Pavilion in Fort Worth this year on March 8th. To date, the 2013 Fort Worth Untapped Festival has been the highest attended event so far in the series, and they don’t plan on slowing down any time soon.
