So Far, So Good At Asian Film Festival of Dallas (Part 1)
The 13th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas shifted into high gear Thursday night. People from around the Dallas Area came to Angelika Film Center near Mockingbird Station. I rode the little escalator up to the second floor of the complex and checked into the makeshift headquarters. Each year, AFFD would alternate between Angelika Dallas […]
3 Places Where You Can Learn Burlesque in Dallas
What is burlesque? Urban Dictionary defines it as “A variety show that uses: comedians, strippers, or musicians that often sing and dance while removing their clothes in a seductive manner.” It requires its performers (mainly female) to act out comic sketches mixed with dancing that pokes fun at everything. There are rules: minimum costuming, sexually-related dialog or innuendo, and clever comedic moments that are easy to laugh at and harmless.
13th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas Tickets Go On Sale Today
Starting today, July 1st, tickets will go on sale for the 13th Annual Asian Film Festival of Dallas. It’s a week-long event that showcases the Asian experience in cinematic form. First things first, I would like for everyone to suspend their disbelief on what you might expect to see at the festival. Yes, there will be action-adventure films (some including martial arts), but these are not the only genres in-which they have to offer.
REVIEW: What Really Happened at Oak Cliff Film Festival 2014
I’m a fan of film. I could name you several films off the top of my head, the type of genres, and argue your face off about what they should or should not have done in the movie. However, I’ve never made a film. I’ve never written a screenplay. Nor, have I ever directed anybody, hustled for funds, actors, locations, or equipment.

What I Learned at the 2014 Dallas Asian Festival
I arrived at Main Street Garden at last, and I am met with full crowd. The 24th Annual Asian Festival was being held this year in downtown Dallas and of all the places they could have picked, they went with Main Street Garden. This fairly large rectangular box splayed in the middle of downtown fits […]

There’s something that you need to know. I am a geek. I love movies. I love video games. I love comic books, and I really love anime. With that in mind, there’s something that I would have to disclose to you as a geek. A-Kon is almost here. What is an A-Kon? It’s an anime […]
How I Survived Dallas Comic Con 2014
Sunday, I was up with the sun and vitamin B-12 was coursing through my veins. I’m was sitting on the Orange Line Dart Rail on my way to West End Station, as I prepared myself psychologically. This was my first time covering Dallas Comic Con, but my second time attending the convention.
Asian Festival Dallas 2014 Happens this Saturday at Main Street Garden
You know what I love about Asian culture? Everything. I love the food. I enjoy the many types of entertainment. I appreciate the history.
What Happened at the 37th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival Last Weekend?
The weather is always good when you come to Fair Park and I’m was in high spirits. The 37th Annual Dallas International Guitar Festival had a lot going for it. Live music. A expansive selection of vendors to choose from. A new location. And several opportunities to meet new friends who love rock and roll as much as you do. At least, that was what they were going for that weekend.
