Annual Home Brew Riot Festival in Bishop Arts District

The Bishop Arts District will be closing down North Bishop Avenue this Saturday, June 12th, for the Second Annual Brew Riot Festival. From 6pm to 10pm, taste free samples from 11 homebrewers (like Nasty Nelly’s Strange Brew, MyBlock Miabock, or Mind the GAP Mild) and beers from 9 microbreweries, including Ommegang, Franconia, New Belgium, Crispin, Real Ale, Harpoon, and Breckenridge. The homebrewers are competing for the People’s Choice Awards and professional brewmaster awards.

There will be live music and fun activities like the Lone Star Stationary Sprints (stationary cycling competition) and a giant outdoor chess set.  A donation of $20 will get you a wristeband to taste beers, however, you don’t need a wristband to enter the festival. (If you see this soon enough, Eno’s Pizza and Go Oak Cliff are giving away free tickets to a few lucky people on their Facebook page.) Eno’s Pizza is sponsoring the event and will be selling wristbands before the festival & serving free pizza during the festival.

Proceeds from the donation will go towards the non-profit Go Oak Cliff. Their focus is on supporting and inspiring the Historic Oak Cliff Community and they have organized some amazing projects in the area like the 7th Street Beautification Project and Better Block.
