Cortina Jackson is the author of “On Earth, As It is In Hell” and “The Sounds of Silence Are The Loudest“. After our previous interview, ILiveInDallas.com caught up with Cortina to discuss her latest project of converting “On Earth…” into an audio book.

ILID: Why did you decide to do an audio version of your book “On Earth As It Is In Hell?”

CJ: I really felt the story would be enjoyed best by listening. As a child my favorite time in grade school was story time. When my teacher would read to us, I felt like I was right there in the thick of it, I could immerse myself in the plot.This particular story I hope will engage the audience in that manner as well.

ILID: Have you chosen a narrator for your book? And if so, what motivated you to choose that particular voice actor?

CJ: The audio book is narrated by Adam Breazeale. I had many fantastic people to audition for the book, but Adam had a nice voice; but even nicer personality, and this was important. He cared about the project and treated it as if it were his own. I appreciate him very much, and I am proud of the work that he did in telling a terrific story!

ILID: What are you hoping readers will get from listening to this audio book?

CJ: I hope that they will feel the emotions in each character, and become intrigued in the story line. The story is powerful, the reader is great, the listeners are appreciated.

ILID: Are you planning on having any of your other titles in audio format?

CJ: Yes, absolutely! I am planning on formatting my book, “The Sounds of Silence are the Loudest” for audio distribution. This book details the life of a serial killer. I feel that the audio version will be much more intriguing for those long or late night drives or even days when you are at home. I am very excited to get this going very soon.
