YnC also announced plans to expand its reach by raising awareness about local community initiatives. The night will showcase two local organizations dedicated to engaging and fighting against problems that exist within the local DFW community.

“The expanded mission of YnC is to impact culture through the power of the arts and music. This opportunity to work with amazing organizations in our own backyard is the perfect opportunity to see that come to life.” – J. Damany Daniel, Founder of Young and Cultured

Unearned (www.unearned.net) is a “movement in a belief that everyone has needed help at some point in their lives.” They create t-shirts that motivate people to take action and donate 65% of profits from the sale to local non-profit partners. I assume they will be selling shirts at the event? Either way, a pretty cool movement out of Denton.

Stop Child Trafficking Now (www.sctnow.org) has launched a nationwide campaign to raise money and target the source of child sex trafficking. They have a bold initiative to take down the predators by convicting them of their heinous crime and end the demand of trafficking.

“According to Children at Risk, 25% of all certified US child trafficking victims are right here in Texas.  There is something we can do about that and it starts with raising awareness.  We can’t afford to be silent anymore.” – Jennifer Worrell, local organizer for SCTNow

Learn about these movements and more at September’s Concert @ event on Friday, September 18 at 7:30pm. The event is always free.
