Dallas Art Dealers Association Fall Gallery Walk
The Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) presents its annual Fall Gallery Walk and Panel Discussions this Saturday, September 12th, 2009.
Get on your bike or go by foot to visit some of DADA’s member galleries, museums, and nonprofit art spaces around the Dallas area from 2-8pm. Start at any of the DADA member locations and pick up a map or download the map online.
Based on the map it looks like the Design District around Dragon St. has the most to see for those who are looking to walk in one area. Although I do recommend venturing out to Deep Ellum and going to the Dahlia Woods Gallery and the Latino Cultural Center across the street OR visit North Dallas to escape the city-life in the Sculpture Garden at Valley House.
What DADA location would you recommend to people who are looking to go off the beaten path?
The panel discussions will also be on Saturday starting at 10:30am. There are 2 panels and both are open to artists and members of the public. Each panel cost $15 and tickets can be purchased online. Proceeds benefit the Edith Baker Art Scholarship.
Career Choices 101: Being Smart about Your Career as an Artist with Benito Huerta, Vicki Meek, and Pamela Nelson from 10:30pm to noon.
Art and Economics 101: Pricing and Protection of Art in Today’s Economy with Bob Banks, Steve Green, Charles Lipscomb, and Cheryl Vogel from 1:00pm to 2:30pm.
The panel discussions will be held at the South Dallas Cultural Center, 3400 S. Fitzhugh at Robert B. Cullum.
The Fall Gallery Walk and panel discussions are sponsored by Intownmix.com, Modern Luxury Dallas and Design Guide.
