Last Late Night Summer Block Party in the Dallas Arts District
Do something memorable on Friday, August 21st! The late night summer block party in the Dallas Arts District is coming to an end. Learn how to dance to the beat of Indian classical and Western hip-hop, get a custom henna design, share some of your latest poetry during open mic.
Want to chill out and watch a movie? You can do that, too. Under the stars and the Nasher garden! The Nasher Sculpture Center is showing The Princess Bride. And in the DMA auditorium catch the Hitchcock classic movie, Rear Window.
There will be food, drinks, lectures and tours. The last late night summer block parties in the Dallas Arts District is going to be a night to remember. Keep reading for the full schedule of Friday’s events at each location.

Teams may sign up for the challenge in the Center for Creative Connections starting at 7:30 p.m. for the 8:00 p.m. challenge and 9:30 p.m. for the 10:00 p.m. challenge.

The Princess Bride

Bring a blanket and join us in the Garden for a screening of The Princess Bride, a clever fairy tale for all ages. A classic tale of love and adventure, the beautiful princess Buttercup is kidnapped and held against her will in order to marry the cowardly Prince Humperdinck, while her true love Westley attempts to save her. On his quest, he encounters dashing heroes, rhyming giants, shrieking eels, rodents of unusual size, and fancy swordfights. (Rated PG) Nasher Café will be open for dinning al fresco on the Terrace. Rear Window (1960)

Starring Grace Kelly and a wheelchair-bound James Stewart as a pair of accidental peeping Toms, Alfred Hitchcock’s suspense classic takes on one of Edward Hopper’s more ominous themes: looking through a window into the private, often sinister world next door.
