Dozens of concessionaires and local restaurants offer guests a wide array of tasty local cuisines, beer, wine and cocktails. Guests can enjoy these tasty treats while experiencing more than 200 artists displaying and selling their works. Some will be created live. The exquisite collections showcased will include paintings, sculptures, murals, jewelry and other original words of art.
The adult-oriented three-day Festival will cover six city blocks of Main Street in Dallas’ Entertainment District featuring more than 100 performances including bands and solo musicians from all over the Metroplex and beyond. Each will perform only original music representing a variety of genres from four outdoor stages and two new indoor stages inside the iconic Sons of Hermann Hall.
This year’s Festival will also feature street performers, jugglers and other whimsical characters throughout the weekend to kick off April Fools’ Day. There will also be Poetry Slam’s open mic and a corner where registered speakers will utilize their right to free speech on a topic of their choice soap box-style.
The Festival is expanding this year shifting three blocks east beginning at Malcolm X Boulevard and ending at Exposition Hall outside of the Sons of Hermann Hall. It opens for lunch on Friday at 11 a.m., offering downtown office workers a special opportunity to preview the Festival during their lunch break.
