Heart of Texas Comic Con
Heart of Texas Comic Con is Central Texas’ premier comic book and pop culture convention. Next month, they are all set to feature over 100 amazing artists and vendors offering everything from hand-drawn art, to homemade crafts, to toys and collectibles, and anything in between. It doesn’t matter if your obsession is comic books, anime, sci-fi, video games, television, or movies; Heart of Texas Comic Con has something for everyone.
Suit up as your favorite hero or villain and enter our prize awarding costume contests. Check out their awesome arsenal of vehicles featuring the Jurassic Park Jeeps, the Ecto 1D from Ghostbusters, and Baby, the supernatural Impala. Witness professionals demonstrate exciting sword battles and showcase enchanting performances. Meet Allen Bellman, Darren Davis, Joe Rubenstein, Sam De La Rosa, Waco’s very own Greg Peters, and several other of the comic book industries’ leading artists with credits from Marvel, DC, Stromfront Publishing, Hanna Barbera, and more.
If all of that isn’t enough, get up close and personal with their many celebrity guests that include; Jim Cummings, voice of numerous childhood favorites such as Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Darkwing Duck. Sean Schemmel, voice of Dragon Ball Z’s Goku will also be there along with Back to the Future’s Claudia Wells. Other guests in attendance include famed wrestler Jim “Hacksaw†Dugan, C. Thomas Howell of the Outsiders and Red Dawn, Felix Silla, also known as Cousin Itt, of Addams Family fame, Power Rangers’ cast Allyson Sullivan and Kerrigan Mahan, and Once Upon a Time’s Jason Burkhart.
The fun begins on Friday, March 11th, when doors open at 4pm and stay open until 8pm. Things will kickoff Saturday, March 12th, at 11am and keep things going until 6pm. The  final day, Sunday, March 13th, also begins at 11am and will roll into 5pm. VIP ticket holders will be able to skip the crowds and enter the building an hour earlier than everyone else (10am) on Saturday and Sunday. Early online ticket purchases will be discounted and they are also offering military, teacher, and student discounts. Children 10 and under get in for free!
