2015 is the Year Dallas Does Digital Media
It’s a great year in DFW for online creators. The community here in the metroplex is expanding for those who create and distribute media online. I’m not one to throw exclamation points around willy-nilly, but… We happen to have the best digital conference in the world coming up! (That’s right. That was an exclamation point kind of sentence.)
2015 is bringing Fort Worth the second Podcast Movement Conference. Listed as the number one conference to attend by Entrepreneur.com, Podcast Movement has already announced a host of amazing speakers, including, Sarah Koenig, host of the SERIAL Podcast, and Pat Flynn of Smart Passive Income.
Let me say that again so it sinks in. Sarah Koenig, the woman who gave us all a rollercoaster ride that was SERIAL, will be keynoting. (Yes, I could easily add another exclamation point, and even an interjection, but I’m trying to show some punctuation restraint.)
The conference will be held July 31 – August 1 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel. With 1200 people already pre-registered, Podcast Movement is the region’s largest digital gathering.
But it’s far from just one amazing conference that makes this year so special. February marks the one year anniversary of the Podcast Dallas group. Podcast Dallas is a free meetup held on the first Tuesday of each month in Addison, TX. It is open to podcasters and podcast sympathizers.
February will also be the launch of a new association called Cre8tors Club, which is aimed at online video creators. The DFW Cre8tors Club will be a new monthly meetup, focused on learning and networking with people that love online video including: YouTube, Vine, video marketing and all things related to creating video.
Jeremy Vest, CEO of Vidpow and Founder of Creators.club, says:
“Dallas has many famous YouTubers and people that make their living from online video. It’s time we created a gathering, too, where we can collaborate, learn and grow together.â€
The first meeting of the Cre8tors Club is set for February. 23rd 2015. Location information is coming soon.
