Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) Fall Gallery Walk

outsideofMaryTomasgallery1Art lovers of every description will soon have the chance to socialize and tour a full spectrum of galleries and special exhibitions —all in one day, all for free.

The Dallas Art Dealers Association (DADA) will be presenting its 29th annual Fall Gallery Walk Saturday, September 20th at over 35 art spaces all over North Texas including Arlington, Irving, Denton and several locations around Dallas.

Aside from the array of galleries opening their doors to the public, there are a few other special events taking place during the walk worth mentioning.

Anteks Book Signing Event

A featured stop on the DADA Fall Gallery Walk, meet Barry Friedman, six-time Emmy Award nominated writer and author of Still Chasing Rainbows: Collecting American Indian Trade & Camp Blankets Volume Two. While there, feel free to shop Barry’s collection of vintage Indian trade blankets and unique Native American antiques and jewelry presented by fifth generation Indian Trader Jed Foutz of Shiprock Santa Fe. Sponsored by Cowboys & Indians Magazine, this event benefits the Edith Baker Art Scholarship and will be held at Anteks in the Design District, 10am-7pm.

DADA Bike Swarm

While you may not be able to actually walk to all the galleries on this self-guided tour, biking to a few of them is a nice alternative. Cyclists of all ages are invited to join the Bike Swarm as part of the DADA Fall Gallery Walk taking place at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center starting at 1:30pm.

Did I mention this is a FREE event???

Since hours at each gallery vary, click here for a complete listing of exhibitions by neighborhood and start at any member location. Remember, even though it’s called a walk, a car or bicycle is necessary.

With so many options, it has been said that a good place to start is The MAC, 3120 McKinney Avenue, in Uptown Dallas.
