Hailing from the late 18th century, the martini is a classic mixture of gin, vermouth and garnish that’s appeared countless times in various forms throughout history. A favorite of many revered poets, writers and actors, it has become a mainstay in our society.  There isn’t a menu that lacks this classic American cocktail.

This year, Cool River Café is celebrating the esteemed martini with a little fete of their own. The Martini Fest will take place this Saturday, August 16 at at 7:30pm.  The restaurant will showcase twenty different vodkas from around the world, including some of the brands you know and love. If you’ve been looking for an opportunity to expand your cocktail repertoire, now’s your chance.  Mixologists from across the country will be creating specialty martinis. Additionally, Chef Rodman Shields will be serving up appetizers to accompany the drinks.

Throughout the evening, the restaurant will have raffles and prize giveaways.  Don’t stray too far, Cool River has arranged for post-event live music by Dallas’ top party band, Incognito.  Tickets for Martini Fest are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Care for an appletini?
