Beer Garden, Local Market, Swap Meet & Live Music to Come to Fort Worth Ave This Saturday
Bring your kids, bring your dog, bring your junk. Spare pARTS Market and Bark Belmont are popping up at 739 Fort Worth Avenue this Saturday, April 26th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., complete with a junk swap, local market, beer garden, dog park, mural painting and live music.
The idea for this weekend’s event was conceived when the Fort Worth Avenue Development Group found themselves with a big, vacant lot on their hands, right next to the Belmont Hotel; they thought, “What better use for this large grassy area than a party?” And so that’s what they’re doing, all while keeping it local and encouraging the community come together and activate an underused space. The vendors will all be focusing on repurposed, upcycled and sustainable goods, so you can feel good about yourself in the wake of Earth Day.
Coincidentally, the opening for the new Cox Farms Market at Sylvan Thirty is just days before the event, giving you a great excuse to head over to West Dallas on Saturday to pick up some local produce, stop by Spare pARTS to walk your dog and grab a beer, and then walk to Smoke for dinner and a nightcap.
