Savor Dallas 2009 is this weekend & benefiting 3 local charities
Savor Dallas is an annual event started 5 years ago by co-founders Vicki Briley-White and Jim White. For over 9 years White was the Executive Producer and Host of The KRLD Restaurant Show. He also co-founded KRLD Restaurant Week which raises $300,000/year for programs benefiting the North Texas National Food Bank. Since Savor Dallas started in 2004, each year seems to have a unique memory behind it. The weather is expected to be pleasant and dry this year, and so is the wine.
What struck me to post about this event (all wine aside) is Savor Dallas donates a portion of net proceeds to three local charities: North Texas Food Bank, The Education and Scholarship Fund for the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association, and The Arts Magnet Building Campaign for Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts.
I listed Friday’s special tasting event and the 3 wine tasting seminars on Saturday. Savor Dallas has other (*ah’hem* more expensive) packages available on their site. Tickets can be purchased at this address: savordallas.com/tickets or by calling 1-866-277-7920.
