“The Tree in a Field” by Eitan Vitkon “A Tree in a Field,” inspired by the works of the Hebrew poet, Nathan Zach, is a collaborative exchange between Israeli and Texan artists, which focuses on the connection between man and nature, and on underlying themes of energy, compassion and unity. The exhibition, co-curated by Doron Polak and Matt Anzak, will be displayed from November 3- December 21, 2012 at LuminArte Gallery, located at1727 E. Levee Street, Dallas, Texas 75207.

The international exhibition will display artwork in the media of painting, sculpture, photography, and collage, as well as a performance piece by Doron Polak and Michael Lazar, which incorporates black mud from the Dead Sea in Israel and sand from the Texas coast line.

An additional Texas-Israel art collection is on display in the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce offices at 12700 Park Central Drive, Suite 101, Dallas, Texas 75251. This cross cultural project is sponsored by Alon USA, an energy company anchored holistically in the concerns and aspirations of the developing Dallas metropolitan area.

Alon USA has endeavored to promote an atmosphere of compassionate patronage for social and cultural concerns within the local community through supporting educational initiatives, such as the CIS (Communities in Schools) Dallas Region Endowment Fund, wellness programs benefiting the American Heart Association, as well as Jewish community and business associations including the Texas-Israel Chamber of Commerce. Through supporting cultural projects like the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts and the Dallas Institute for Humanities and Culture, Alon exhibits a deeper sense of cultural identity, while contributing to the local ecology by sponsoring the Trinity Trust Foundation and the Trinity Project, a massive civil engineering project aimed at revitalizing the waterway as a substantial development of Dallas green space.
