The Dallas Design District blog, Jim Lake Companies and Deep Ellum Outdoor Market are teaming up to bring a market to the Design District, aiming to liven the streets of the neighborhood, show Dallasites what it has to offer, and give those living and working in the district a way to celebrate it. On October 4th from 5 to 10 p.m., Cole Street between Dragon and Slocum will be shut down to make way for food trucks, local beer, street vendors, live music and other fun activities. Here’s what you can expect Thursday evening:

A slew of Design District businesses like f. is for frank, Grass Roots Imports, EGallery Studios, Top Drawer Interiors and The Wooden House will be setting up shop, as well as many of Deep Ellum Market Director Brandon Castillo’s tried-and-true vendors such as Dowdy Studio, BoHo Jewelry, Colcerex Trading Co., Durty Laundry, Sweetly Recycled, Hot Mess T-Shirts and ReGEARED.

Art collective In Cooperation with Muscle Nation will make an appearance, and Greenville Avenue’s Live Hair Group will be offering free color bugging and hair styling from their booth at the market.

Topo Chico will be passing out samples of their delicious mineral water, Armadillo Ale Works will be serving their artisan Ginger Cream Ale and Lemon Soda Pop, and local beer from Peticolas, Lakewood, Deep Ellum, Revolver and Rahr brewing companies will flow from two La Grange pop up bars.

And, you can’t forget the food trucks: Easy Slider, The Butcher’s Son, Rockstar Bakeshop, Bombay Street Food, Eat Jo Dawgs, Tutta’s Pizza and Belgian Waffle Co. will be lining the streets for hungry event goers to refuel during shopping.

Four local bands will provide the entertainment for the night, including alternative rock band Jaw, folk-rock group Danny Rush and the Designated Drivers, pop violinist Daniel Hart and electro-pop band ZHORA.

There will be yard games, street drawing, a pet area and other surprises! Also, attendees who bike, walk or take public transit to the event get 25% off a limited editing Design District Market t-shirt. The event is free and open to the public.
