Hang Out with Three Fashionistas in the H.O.B.’s Foundation Room for “THE Afterparty”

On Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. at the House of Blues Dallas Foundation Room, three up-and-coming local designers, Edgar Gomez, Emmanuel Tobias, and Yasmina Johnston will showcase their new and recent works at an exclusive after party celebrating one of the largest nights in fashion: Fashion’s Night Out.

The House of Blues Dallas Foundation Room and Fashion Fridays are inviting fashion connoisseurs to an exclusive event, THE Afterparty, to continue celebrating fashion’s most iconic evening through Friday’s bewitching hours.

Themed cocktails will be provided by Deep Eddy Vodka, bites by Chef J.P. Shanks, and beats by DJ Chocolate Groove.

Edgar Gomez

Edgar Gomez is a luxury fashion house based in Dallas, Texas, founded by Venezuela-born designer Edgar Gomez in 2009. The house specialized in high-end women’s apparel and embraces women who strive to feel confident and glamorous in ready-to-wear attire, coctail dresses, couture evening gowns and bridal wear. Gomez’s designs are feminine and sophisticated, mixed with powerful design structures to produce unique garments that are both bold and elegant. He will be showcasing his lavish haute couture collection, where he uses hand crafted techniques and traditional sewing to produce on-of-a-kind pieces, at THE Afterparty. His SPRING | SUMMER 2013 collection is inspired by the Far East, specifically the secluded world of the Ming Dynasty, where Gomez draws inspiration from the intricate patterns and vibrant colors of Ming vases. Emmanuel Tobias

Emmanuel Tobias, a Dallas-based fashion designer, studied patternmaking and fashion design at El Centro College and the University of North Texas. After spending time creating custom designs for private clients and working at Richard Brooks Fabrics, Tobias was mentored by in-house couture designer Michael Faircloth. His extravagant designs and detailed alternative gowns have led him to earn numerous industry awards, including Most Creative at the University of North Texas’ Art Wear Fashion Show, Second Place at the Scion Driving Fashion Competition, First Place in Eveningwear and Best in Show at Fashion Group International’s Career Day, First Place at Crimson in the City’s Bellisimo Fashion Runway Event and First Place at the vitaminwater INSPIRED Fashion Show at the Granada Theater. I.O.S. (Inner Orbit Systems) by Yasmina Johnston

i.o.s. (inner orbit systems) is Dallas-based fashion designer Yasmina Johnston’s clothing line, full of edgy, avant garde clothing. A self-proclaimed artist with an eye for creativity, she prides herself on creating “wearable art” inspired by the fashion capital of the Middle East, Dubai. After studying at the Art Institute of Dallas, Johnston’s fashion forward designs earned her Third Place in the Humane Society’s Cool vs. Cruel Competition with a cocoon-shaped coat created entirely of cotton canvas. As she works towards opening a studio in the Dallas area that will feature designs from her “new wave of fashion”, she continues to create clothing that will help men and women in the area become less afraid of wearing something “out of the box”.
